Steps

Cake · About 10 min

  1. Heat oven to 180°C / 350°F. Use 5 eggs, separated, 160 g sugar, 160 g plain flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 60 ml milk, 1 tsp vanilla extract. Beat whites to soft peaks, add half the sugar. Beat yolks with remaining sugar, milk and vanilla; fold in flour and baking powder, then whites.

Check: The food must be hot through at 180°C / 350°F.

Bake · About 30 min

Check: Look for this result: a skewer is clean.

Chill · About 240 min

  1. Refrigerate 4 hours. Whip 300 ml whipping cream, 25 g icing sugar to soft peaks and spread over cake; keep cold.
